Minecraft Building Challenge: From One Minute to Ten Years

00:00It took ten years to build this in Minecraft. And I'm gonna show you the difference between this and a one-year build, a one-month build, all the way down to a one-minute build. Cheetah, timer starts now. Show us what you got. Let's do it. Whoa, whoa! Four blocks just spawned out of nowhere! Whoa, it's only been seven seconds. He is grinding. Wait, he's even using different pieces of wood? Wait, yeah, how is he switching so quick? Twenty seconds has gone by. [Cheetah] Excuse me, MrBeast? Ok, so here's the deal, Cheetah. At the end of this video, each of us is gonna pick our favorite build and give that person $10,000. I need to lock in for this.

00:37This is so impressive. I couldn't even do this in an hour. Well, I see why they call this man a cheetah. Oh, my goodness. You framed the bed. Ok, ok. Buttons too? Three, two, one… The one minute is up, Cheetah. Dude, that was so fast. That's so cool. Wow, you built that in a minute. [Cheetah] You guys want potatoes? You cooked potatoes? [laughs] I had time. Ok, that might deserve 10 grand. I'm not gonna lie. That is just the one-minute build. We still have a one-month, a one-year, and a ten-year build later in this video. Let's move on. And now, the one-hour build. And sadly, the builder couldn't make it because he has an architecture exam right now. Wait, he's a real architect?

01:21This is gonna be good. Let's go check it out. Now, keep in mind, he only had an hour to do this build. So, I'm actually very impressed. He got a lot done. This house has multiple different layers. It's incredible. Hola, Qu1nten. Hello. Oh, he left us a message. Hey, guys. Sorry I couldn't be here, but welcome to my build. I built this in just one hour. Like, a crazy short amount of time, but I really tried my best. This is the home of a very powerful samurai. And his home is actually hiding a secret room. This room actually contains the heaviest object in the universe, so good luck trying to find it. Heaviest object? Bro, he has custom samurai swords. That's kind of cool.

01:59Ooh, they're glittering. I've seen houses like this in Japan. This build is very pretty. I mean, this is really good. Ok, I honestly really like this tree out here. The pandas look like they're really enjoying themselves. There's no way he built birds out of lever-- Oh, I actually destroyed it. Um, yeah, that's my bad. That's actually my bad. Keep in mind, there's a hidden secret room or something, right? Oh, yeah. We never found the secret room. Where would that be? I'm finding it. I'm good at this stuff. Oh! [gasps] Oh. Oh! Oh, it's an emerald. Oh, it's Nolan's mom. [laughs] [laughing] Yo! Oh! It's Nolan's mom. That's funny. That's pretty funny. [laughs]

02:36Alright, guys. I think we've seen enough. Let's head on over to the one-day build. Icy. Icy, what's good? Yo. So, everything you see here was built in 24 hours? [IcyBuilds] Yeah, honestly. Ok, let's go explore.

02:56It just keeps going. How did you come up with all this in 24 hours? Did you sleep? Yeah, I slept for six hours as well. You know, I need some beauty sleep. So it wasn't even a full day. It wasn't even a full day. Oh, my gosh. [IcyBuilds] So, throughout the island, right? There are four different areas. We have the desert, the forest, the wetland plateau, and the volcanic craters. The main part of all of this kingdom is this build right here. Whoa. Oh, that's cool. You'll see these crystals all throughout this kingdom. Yeah, I see one out in the distance in the ocean. They're massive. [IcyBuilds] They're like an energy source for the entire city.

03:33So, you've built, like, an entire lore around the city. Aw. Can I move here to the city? This is just… I need to live here. [IcyBuilds] You are more than welcome to move in. I even have a room for you. [Caylus] What? Yes! This is the main bedroom. This is Jimmy's room, guys. Oh, my goodness. You furnished every single building too? Of course. I would never slack on interior. Jimmy, I'm bunking with you. Whoa! Whoa, whoa, whoa. [BTMC] Oh, yo! Guys, did you see the giant butterfly, by the way? What? [IcyBuilds] Yeah, it's pollinating all these flowers. You are so creative, Icy. I'm not gonna lie. I appreciate it so much. What's the context behind these mountains?

04:08They have, like, these vacuums behind them. [IcyBuilds] They don't usually occur in mountains, and I feel like that's fantasy, man. No, yeah, this is ridiculous. This is insane. I'll say it right now, you're my favorite build. The one-day build exceeded my expectations. This is honestly magical, and I don't use that word lightly. Let's head to the one-week build. Mr. Mango! You built this in a week. Let's go explore the one-week build. [BTMC] What? [echoing] If the last one was a city, this is a civilization. Where are we-- Are we in Rome? [ThaMango] Yeah, it's like a mix of Roman and Greek. Look at that statue, though. That is beautiful. Yo, he's jacked, too. I see a six-pack. [laughs] Hey!

04:51Yo, chill. My girl's here. My girl's here! [BTMC chuckles] What else does Rome have? Uh, the Colosseum. That's from Rome as well. Oh… [chuckling] Jimmy, we're fighting. My girl's watching. You gotta go easy, ok? Alright. Hey, come here. Alright, here we go.

I'm winning! [Jimmy] Aye! Caylus is the best wingman. [Caylus chuckles] What else should we know? [ThaMango] Did you check out the dock area? Oh, with all the ships and stuff, yeah? [ThaMango] That's my favorite part. On each ship, most of them are exporting different stuff to and from the kingdom. So, there's, like, one with honey, and then one with, like, different ores and stuff. That's cool. Oh, yeah. I see the diamonds and the emeralds. Wow, the detail. I like that. Hey, this city is rich!

05:47Ok, wait. I'm gonna choose a random building. Is there something in here? Like, If there's stuff in here, then this is very impressive. Oh, there's not. Yeah, I just noticed. All the buildings are empty on the inside. Ooh… I'm a fan of quality over quantity, hence why we don't upload that much on this channel. Just like in building, you should only build buildings when you have good buildings. You see what I'm saying? Ok, but there's cake here, so that's a plus, honestly. [Jimmy] Alright. You know what? Nevermind. Throw everything I said out the window. There's cake. [Caylus laughs] At first glance, I was like, "Whoa." But now that I've walked through it, not really feeling it.

06:21I'm just gonna say it. Let's move on. And now, the one-month build. What did I just spawn into? Are we underwater? This place is high-tech. This is beautiful! Shovel, my boy! How'd you build this monster? Oh, a lot of commands, a lot of time, and some help from my friends. [Jimmy] You spent 500 hours building this. Did you guys see the monorail around the map? This is insane. [shovel241] I wanted to make sure that it felt like a city. Anywhere you go, for the most part, it feels immersive. You made it feel like a city? There's a floating bus! Dude, there's a ramen shop. Oh, there is a ramen shop. Oh, and there's an interior! Oh, no way.

07:03[shovel241] Every city is based on a book that I wrote back in college. Oh, what? You should publish it. [Caylus] I am seeing a lot of TNT around. What if I just… Caylus? He spent 523 hours! Do not blow it up, Caylus. [Caylus laughs] [shovel241] This entire city is underwater, and they do a lot of research here, but they need funding for it. So, what they do is they build a casino. Whoa. Oh, my goodness. The entire interior is decked out, too! When you guys are ready, you can follow me up here. [BTMC] Whoa. Ok, this is insane. There's so much detail! [shovel241] There is one more. There's more? [laughs] This is the high roller room up here.

07:47Whoa. Oh, the chandelier looks incredible, too. So yeah, that's one of the interiors that I've done. Dude, you thought through everything. This is the library. Oh, my goodness. You built a library here, too? This is incredible. It's like Harvard's library. It just keeps going. Multiple floors, too. At the end of this video, Shovel, each of us will pick our favorite build. 08:26I was told you built everything we're about to see by yourself. Yes, I built it all alone. [Caylus] Every single block here was your doing? Are you sure? Yes. [chuckles] Alright, Tim, show us around your one-year build. So uh, welcome to the Kingdom Osirion. It's a project based on the Egyptian and Babylonic architecture and culture. Fun fact, the city is 200 million blocks big. Did you just say two million? 200 million. 200 million?! You counted? There are two rings of walls, and when we go over the main gate, we are on the street that leads us to the heart of the city. This place is wealthy. They got all the water everywhere in this barren desert?

09:11In the center there is the temple from the god Anubis. Uh, this is the first and largest building I have built there. This is crazy-- Wait, is there an interior to the pyramid? Yes, there is an interior. When we go in, all the city's treasures are kept there. Whoa. There's so much treasure. Look at all the gold. In the middle is a statue of Anubis. This is the main build of the project. Oh my God. Now mind you, what you guys are seeing is just the inside of the pyramid, which is in the middle of the little island, that is in the middle of the giant city that is 200 million blocks, all laid by this guy. [Timtenth] And this is one of five temples with interior.

09:53Oh yeah, I just found another one right here. Let me go inside. Oh my-- What? This is so cool.

10:04[Thea] I'm kind of speechless. This is crazy. Honestly, just walking through the city's really cool. I'm gonna be honest, We were supposed to do an ad on our peanut butter cups, but we started eating 'em. Cheers! I want some! [Timtenth] Uh, these are… It's the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Oh, my God. Bro, my eyes can't even process what I'm looking at. What is this? This is Minecraft, remember. If you haven't tried the Feastables Peanut Butter Cups, you should. Real peanut butter straight out of a jar. Available in these retailers. So good. Would you say that if you weren't my fiancé? Babe, I ate the whole pack. [both laugh]

10:35[Jimmy] Can I ask you? Is this your full-time job, building this city? That is my dream. After my bachelor's degree, I focused full time on Minecraft. I want to do it full time. Oh, so you have a bachelor in Architecture. That's a reoccurring theme in this challenge. [BTMC] I love the depth behind it. A year of thinking, a year… It was a hard year. Tim, I have a question. Answer honestly. Are you happy with the time you spent on this build? I'm actually curious what you have to say. I think I'm really proud of it. But on financial aspects, it was not worth it. Would you say $10,000 would help you? A little bit, yes. You put a lot of effort into this. It's very respectable.

11:23Wiseguy, what are we looking at? Well, you guys are looking at what we have called Greenfield, which we think is one of the most largest and realistic Minecraft cities in Minecraft.

11:37Each one of these buildings has unique interiors, just like a real city would. Whoa! Wait, wait, wait. Wow, there's escalators? It has a full interior, every floor. Every floor! It has a lobby, it has signage, it has elevators? There's a bathroom! Dude, are there-- Oh, my god. There's actually bathrooms. [Wiseguy] Bathrooms. Of course, we have bathrooms. And there's toilets! Everyone together has put over 100,000 hours into this project. This is the best interior I've seen this entire video. This is just one of-- How many buildings are in this city? We have over 10,000 buildings. 10,000! So you're telling me, I just flew maybe, like, five miles, and yep, ok, this house has an interior.

12:19[chuckling] Literally every building! Caylus, look at this! There's a burning building with firetrucks putting it out. [Caylus] I'm in-- Oh, God. I'm burning! Jimmy, help! [laughs] Wait, I shouldn't be laughing. This is tragic. Another thing that sets us apart is… I think we have probably one of the best airports that's ever been built in Minecraft as well. Oh my goodness. You can see each terminal! You can see the planes as they're parked! This specific building we're in right now I planned and built most of, and it took me over one year to build this, just this building we're in right now. Wiseguy, let me guess… You do architecture. [stuttering] I do, you caught me. Of course.

13:02Every builder in this video is an architect. When I started this project, I was still in middle school, and now I'm still building the same project. I have a full-time job, a girlfriend, an apartment. I really hope that I am still building on this ten, twenty, thirty years from now. And hopefully, I'm building on this with my kids and with their friends, and it's always gonna have room for the next generation of players to help build on it. We saw a lot of builds in this video. A lot of people who poured a lot of effort for months, even years. Who do you wanna give your $10,000 to? I really like the guy who based his entire build off of his own novel.
